Refunds, Returns & Shipping Policy
Refund, Returns & Shipping Policy
All items are final sale. Most of our products are perishable. Therefore, we have a firm no returns, no refunds and no exchanges policy. Due to the nature of perishable products, items cannot easily be shipped back and forth.
Once an order has been placed, we cannot guarantee that it can be canceled or updated, including shipping address updates. Buyer is responsible for providing the correct shipping address at the time of purchase. Please double check that all of your information is correct at time of check out. Our shipments do not require a signature unless you put in a special request.
In the rare event that your meat arrives thawed, please immediately take photos and the temperature of the meat at arrival. All orders ship frozen with dry ice. Meat may thaw slightly during shipping. However, it is safe to consume as long as it remains under 40 degrees Fahrenheit according to USDA frozen food handling guidelines.
Meat is shipped with dry ice. It is the recipients' (your) responsibility to exercise caution when handling dry ice. Do not touch dry ice with bare hands. Only handle when wearing gloves. Do not place dry ice in the freezer. Set it outside and it will sublimate soon!
If your shipment arrives with items missing or damages, first of all, our sincere apologies and know that we want to make it right for you ASAP! Please email us ASAP at marincoastranch.com with details. You can also call us at 707-878-2181, but since we are out with the cows most of the day, email tends to be the quickest route of communication!
Shipping Frequently Asked Questions (remember, according to the USDA, the "safe zone" for raw meat is under 40 degrees Fahrenheit):
- Your box arrived with dry ice inside? Great! Defrost and cook or freeze. Do not place dry ice in the freezer or touch with bare hands.
- Your box arrived without dry ice in it? No problem! If the meat is still frozen, place in freezer or thaw to cook.
- Your meat arrived and is not frozen, but is cold to the touch? If you take the meats temperature and it is below 40 degrees Fahrenheit, no worries! Refrigerate to cook as normal or re-freeze.
- Your meat arrived warm and above 40 degrees Fahrenheit? Give us a call or email ASAP!
Product Inspection and Safe Handling
Please inspect all perishable products as soon as they arrive for any signs of damage or temperature concerns. You are responsible for confirming that your order arrives cold to the touch, ideally below 40°F, as verified with a food thermometer. If your order arrives above that temperature, or if you believe any item may be unsafe to consume, please contact us right away at marincoastranch@gmail.com (include photos of the affected items) and discard the product.
To preserve quality, we recommend refrigerating or freezing all perishable products immediately upon delivery. For additional guidance, you can refer to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) resources on refrigeration and food safety.
Once your order has been delivered, Marin Coast Ranch is not responsible for the condition or consumption of the products. You are solely responsible for proper storage, washing, handling, preparation, and cooking. Please follow USDA recommendations for safe food handling and cooking temperatures. Always use a food thermometer to ensure that meats reach the USDA’s recommended internal temperatures.
Failure to follow safe handling and cooking practices may increase the risk of foodborne illness. Vulnerable groups, including pregnant individuals, young children, older adults, and those with weakened immune systems, should also review the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) food safety guidance for at-risk groups.
Delivery and Packaging
If you are not home when your order is delivered, the carrier will typically leave your package at your door or in a safe location. Marin Coast Ranch products are shipped frozen, individually labeled, and packed in insulated boxes designed to maintain safe temperatures. Depending on your location and weather conditions, your shipment may also contain dry ice. The amount of dry ice is calculated based on transit time and expected temperatures.
It is normal for dry ice to have evaporated by the time you receive your box; your order should still be cold and safe if retrieved on the delivery date. However, in warm weather or during extended delivery times, please plan ahead to promptly refrigerate or freeze your products upon arrival.
In rare cases of severe weather or carrier delays that affect delivery timing, we will make every reasonable effort to deliver your order as soon as possible. If you receive a late delivery or have any concerns about product quality, please contact us at marincoastranch@gmail.com with photos of the items in question. If timely delivery cannot be completed, we will issue a credit or refund for that portion of your order.
