Saturday, September 27th at 10 AM or 12 PM
Attendance is free, but pre-registration is required! Registration closes 48 hours prior to the event.
Directions: Please follow on-site signage to our agritourism gathering space: The Haven at Tomales. Parking is behind the large barns. We will meet at the front of the barns.
Join us for a guided one-mile walk through our cow and sheep pastures! The trail follows natural terrain with some moderate inclines, so be sure to bring your own water and comfortable shoes. We’ll explore the land together at a relaxed pace, stopping often to share stories and insights about our animals, land, and conservation efforts.
Along the way, we’ll talk about:
*Our cattle and sheep lifecycles.
*Old-world care approach to naturally overseeing care of livestock.
*Our biodiversity goals for the ranch.
*Our management approach to the land with a mindful and respectful approach to the soil, native plants and wildlife that call it home. This includes our work with the Marin Carbon Project.
*Historical and currently operating land conservation projects, including our exciting coho salmon population restoration project.
*Discussion about sourcing local food in your community and food miles.
PLEASE help us keep our animals safe and respect our biosecurity policy: if you have visited another farm or ranch in the past two weeks, please do not join the walking tour. All hike attendees will be asked to sanitize shoes prior to entering pasture. Thank you for helping keep our animals healthy!
