Honored to be the only active full-life-cycle beef ranch between both Sonoma and Marin County to be awarded the Snail of Approval Award from Slow Food Sonoma County!
We love this organization because it speaks so strongly to the way our family believes food should be produced - clean, wholesome, environmentally friendly, and local! The approval process included an extensive on-site interview where we reviewed management practices, from birth to harvest, supply chain sustainability, environmentally conscious decisions, clean food production choices, and ways that we choose to support our local economy.

Snail of Approval Award as described by Slow Food Sonoma County:
Slow Food in Sonoma County awards the Snail of Approval to local restaurants, farms/ranches and producers who are making a significant contribution to improving the food system. By celebrating these model providers, Slow Food in Sonoma County highlights the importance of the Slow Food philosophy of good, clean and fair food for all people. Snail of Approval is an international program that we run locally in partnership with Slow Food USA.
Good food is fundamental: food must taste good and be good for us, local and seasonal are priorities.
Clean food is produced in a manner that does not harm the environment, animal welfare, or our health.
Fair food means ensuring accessible prices for consumers, as well as fair conditions and pay for small-scale producers.
